Kagoshima University was converted to a National University Corporation
at April 2004. As such the University is expected to create and improve
the systems to transfer knowledge and techniques of its educational
activities and research to society.
The Venture Business Laboratory, Kagoshima University which was established
in March 2004, just before the incorporation, is the institute that
provides the incubation of technology and a framework based on aims
to connect basic research with closely related technology to the start
of new enterprises.
As the first termfs theme, we set up to focus on the research of thegDevelopment
of NanoStructure Control Intelligent Biomaterialhwhich is chiefly
conducted by bio-research groups in thegDepartment of NanoStructure
and Advanced Materialshin the Graduate School of Science and Engineering.
At the same time, we developed the Kyocera Corporation sponsored Business
Administration course with the Graduate School of Humanities-Sociological
Sciences to establish the most important educational programs for
the start of new enterprises, such as how to license technology, how
to run companies and crisis management. These are open for researchers
and graduate students.
We aim to license the advanced research and to start new venture business
based on them, and further to establish the systems to transfer the
profits to further research and development of new technologies. |
